FEMALE GENITAL AESTHETIC SURGERY

WHAT IS VAGINAL TIGHTENING?

Vaginoplasty is a procedure that aims to "tighten up" a vagina that's become slack or loose from vaginal childbirth or natural aging or trauma. The female aesthetic genital ideal is a function of cultural influences or each women’s personal concept of beauty.

In recent years, women are more aware of their genital appearance due to the popularity of genital hair removal and through photographic materials. Therefore women compare themselves to others and create an aesthetic ideal.

WHY VAGINAL REJUVENATION TREATMENT?

Women frequently refrain from social situations that may require the visualization of their genitals, including wearing tight swimsuits, group showers, or sexual intimacy. They often avoid gynecological exams and are too self-conscious to mention their concern to the doctor. A woman loses her self-esteem and has to face embarrassment if she feels deform or abnormal.

There is no standard for a genital aesthetic ideal. However, most consider ideal as symmetrical labia minora (small lips), a clitoral hood that is reasonably short and non-protuberant with no extra folds, full labia majora (soft large lips) without redundant skin but not overly fatty which can cause an unsightly bulge in clothes, and a mons pubis that has mild fullness but does not protrude in clothes. To get a more defined size and shape of these parts, a woman can think of going for such procedures. It’s their choice, whether they want an invasive or non-invasive procedure.

WHAT IS LABIA MINORA (MINOR LIPS) REDUCTION?

The labia minora are two small folds of skin, lacking fatty tissue, that extend backward on each side of the opening into the vagina.

Labia minora enlargement is congenital in most cases, but some women claim enlargement with age, after childbirth, chronic irritation, or hormones. Labia minora reduction is indicated when the enlargement severely affects self-esteem or causes discomfort.

Fear of embarrassment of one’s genitals is a powerful anti-social force.

HOW DO WE DO IT IN THE AESTHETIC WORLD?

Our Surgeons correct protuberant or asymmetrical labia minora by excising or trimming the abnormal areas using surgical and non-surgical (diode laser treatment). The technique's advantages are short operative time and the creation of light-colored labial edges. Some physicians include eliminating the normal labial edge with the replacement of a longitudinal scar line that is often irregular and scalloped, a higher incidence of chronic discomfort, and a relatively high incidence of asymmetry and over-resection. To prevent these we have an experienced team of Plastic surgeons in which we have Dr. Vivek Gupta, Dr. Itishri Gupta, with advanced techniques & machinery.

LASER VAGINAL THERAPY

Laser vaginal therapy can also enhance the local immune system response and help eliminate chronic vaginal infections. The treatments assist women suffering from stubborn and recurrent vaginal infections by restoring the mucosal lining and sporting the natural local immune system response in the vagina.

Vaginal laser treatment has shown promise in many studies of improved symptoms of Genitourinary syndrome of menopause. A narrow cylinder is placed into the vagina, and the laser makes shallow microscopic nicks in the vaginal skin, promoting healing and tissue regeneration. Treatment is quick, painless, and well-tolerated.

SURGICAL VAGINOPLASTY

There is a variety of aesthetic genital plastic surgery procedures that may enhance the appearance and reduce discomfort. Vaginoplasty is one such procedure designed to tighten the vagina. Patients with significant laxity may not experience a benefit from Non- invasive Vaginal tightening treatments and be better candidates for surgical tightening with vaginoplasty.

A vaginoplasty brings the separated muscles together and the extra mucosa skin from the back side of the vagina is removed. The external skin can also be removed for a more Aesthetic appearance.

VAGINOPLASTY PROCEDURE

Once the amount of tightening  is determined, a pie-shaped wedge is marked to delineate the extra skin to be removed from inside the vagina. Beneath the skin, the tissues are tightened with strong sutures. Once the vaginal canal has been tightened, the mucosal skin is sutured closed. If there is external skin that protrudes, this can be reduced as well for a more aesthetic result.

RECOVERY

Patients may have 1-2 weeks of downtime. They may feel a deep ache for the 1st few days, and there is no tampon used or intercourse for 8 weeks.
